Aftercare

  • Bandage

I do not keep Saniderm or any second skin products on hand (clear bandage)

I personally prefer using absorbent pads and wrapping with sensi wrap.

Leave bandage/wrap on overnight for larger projects, or 3-4 hours minimum for smaller.

When you remove the bandage, wash your tattoo gently with warm water and anti-bacterial soap (Dial Gold is my favorite) removing all plasma and excess ink.

Do not re-bandage. Pat tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. With clean hands, apply a thin coat of unscented lotion 2-3x per day.

  • Lotion Recs:

Aveeno, Lubriderm or Cerave. If you prefer a balm, Hustle Butter is also an amazing product you can order off Amazon easily.

PLEASE NO Aquaphor, vaseline, coconut oil, cocoa butter or petroleum based ointments! These can easily be applied incorrectly and not allow the tattoo to breathe, creating large scabs, breakouts around/on the tattoo, etc.

Peeling and light scabbing may occur. Let flakes fall off naturally.

Do NOT pick or scratch your new tattoo.

Average healing time is 2 weeks, but can be shorter or longer.

  • While your tattoo is healing:

Do NOT swim in chlorinated/salt water, lakes, jacuzzi, steam for a minimum of 2-4 weeks.

Avoid excessive sun exposure (do not apply sunscreen to a healing tattoo)Be cautious when working out, or skip the gym to avoid any potential issues.

Listen to your body and your tattoo, it will tell you if you’re over exerting the area.

Wipe down all equipment before and after use— ESPECIALLY before your tattoo comes in contact with anything someone else has used.

I’d love to see your healed tattoos!

Please send me your healed tattoo pics, bonus points if they include a furry friend! In the event that your tattoo heals and there are any light spots or pieces where ink has fallen out, I offer a complimentary touch up within the first 3 months.
